A Church Most Blessed

1 Thess 1:2-3 “We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” ESV

Dear CBC family,

I want to give a quick update on a few things so you are all kept in the loop.

Today the crew is running the wiring for the new solar panels up on the roof. Everything else is installed so we are almost finished. This project was supposed to take three work weeks (15 days) and by God’s grace it has only been six days. The last step is to have the city come and shut off the power so the team can connect the wiring into the SDGE lines. This means we should be generating much of our power very soon. The savings in utilities should be substantial which means money can be used for other things.

There has been quite a bit of interest in the youth conference in November. You do not need to wait to sign up with the church. If you want to sign up directly with Ligonier you may do so here. Those who want to sign up at CBC for the group rate will need to write a check for $28 per person to CBC and we will put you in with our group. The first ten can go for free due to a generous donation from one of the members. The ten spots are almost gone so hurry if you need one. I will have a sign-up sheet this weekend. If you are an adult who is interested in being a chaperone and driving, we could use the help so talk to one of the elders.

This weekend we will finish the book of Romans. I cannot begin to tell you how much this book has ministered to me since we started it. I will miss being in it every week as it has become a favorite of mine. We will definitely revisit portions of it as we move ahead into another amazing book of scripture.

Thanks to everyone who served at the BBQ last weekend. It was a fantastic time spent with the family. I believe our next event will have the annual salsa and guacamole contest.

We are redoing the monument sign in the front so if you want to learn how to cut and stack stone veneer send me an email and you can work with us. It’s a really dirty job due to the dust from cutting the stones but fairly simple work. It will be a lot of fun and lunch will be provided.

Blessings to you all,

Pastor Scott
