Ask Whatever You Wish
Dear CBC Family,
We have gotten a lot accomplished around the church this week. The concrete work has been completed in the old playground. This area will have a large aluminum gazebo, lighting and a nice BBQ/eating/relaxing area. There will be a small playground set for the little kids on the north side of the enclosure. In the future we will have our sunrise services out in the parking lot followed by a pancake breakfast etc. It will be a really nice spot to get to know people.
Room 700 has the baseboards installed and I will be caulking them all tomorrow. All that is left after that is to cover the two posts and put up some artwork. This room we will use for youth, smaller group meetings, dinner socials etc. Again, a huge amount of work has gone into this room so thanks to all who have rolled up their sleeves or fed the guys working. We appreciate all of you.
The roof had some minor repairs today that were required to finally get the solar going and installed. We are anticipating the solar project install to start within the next few weeks. This should save the church $1000 a month on electricity which we could certainly use.
Lastly, the awnings and parking lot, which needs to be redone completely, not just resealed, should be happening in July. After everything is done, we will have to have a big party to celebrate.
As you can imagine, these projects have been very expensive so thanks to all of you who faithfully give to support the ministry here. Without you these things simply could not happen. God loves a cheerful giver and so does the church family. Thank you!
This weekend will be one of the most important sermons I have ever given at the church. The title is “Prayers that are Guaranteed to Work! I realize that is a bold statement but I am not afraid to go out on a limb regarding what God says. I believe that God expects us to be willing to stand upon what He has spoken. If He says that we can “ask whatever we wish and it will be granted” then we need to explore the context to see what criteria hold that promise, meet the criteria and then ask and expect to receive exactly what God has promised. Join us as we do that very thing.

Blessings to you all,
Pastor Scott
