It's a Fiesta
Gal 3:7-9 ESV
“Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." 9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”
Dear CBC Family,
This weekend is our annual Taco Sunday. This is a favorite of many, especially with the salsa and guacamole contests. The party begins this Sunday, June 8th right after church. The church will provide the tacos. Please feel free to bring a side or desert if you are so inclined. If you want to enter the contest for either the guac or salsa then make sure you check in at the kitchen by 11:30. I'm making a special salsa batch this year myself. It is fermenting in the fridge right now. It has plenty of kick so I’ll label it as “hot”. I’m not entering the contest just sharing some salsa the way I like it. We need a good head count so please let us know if you are coming so we have enough food. Register online here!
This weekend we will continue to have a biblical look at the Abrahamic Covenant. I think you will be extremely surprised when you see it without the “dispensational” twist. The goal is to get an understanding of God’s unilateral covenant with Himself so that chapter three of Galatians makes sense as we move into it.
The Abrahamic Covenant is often portrayed by saying “this is an unconditional covenant for Israel” but that is far from God's purpose here. Join us and bring a friend that might be interested in what is really taking place.
Blessings,
P. Scott
